Action: Fungicide
Composition
Garlic extract formulated in a selected assortment
of edible vegetable oils. Garlic is a well-known natural pest control
product. It is very versatile and controls a wide range of pests.
Crop range
It may be applied on all crops which host powdery
mildew. However, some plants are known to be sensitive to garlic
and especially some ornamental varieties. Test on a few plants before
blanket application.
Rate of Use and Method
of Application
GC-3 is recommended at 3mls/lit of water –
equivalent to 60mls per knapsack. The efficacy of garlic products
is affected by high Ph. Adjust water PH to around 5-6 if it is higher
than this. Spray to wet ensuring the entire target area is covered
including underleaf. Shake thoroughly and keep agitated throughout
the spraying exercise.
Timing of Application
Spray at the first instance of infestation and repeat
every fourteen days until the symptoms disappear. The use of a wetter
such as natural wet enhances the efficacy. Avoid overhead irrigation
for the 24hours after application.
Contradictions
GC-3 may be applied in mixture with other pesticides
including liquid fertilizers. But always check miscibility with
small quantity before mixing the lot.
Precautions
GC-3 has no serious mammalian toxicity issues. However,
people with sensitive skin may development rashes and some people
may be allergic to garlic. Avoid inhalation of fumes and wear protective
clothing to avoid skin and eye contact.
Storage
Store in original container in a cool dry place.
Pre-harvest Interval
GC-3 is a biological pesticide with no residue
issues. But although harvesting may follow soon after application,
we recommend harvesting a day after application.
