Class: Organophosphate

Action: Nematicide / Insecticide

Composition: Cadusafos 10%

Activity

RugbyÒ controls nematodes and other soil borne pest effectively by direct contact or by ingestion and eating root tissue containing RugbyÒ. RugbyÒ is not systemic, is not trans-located by plants to aerial parts, has low water solubility and soil mobility. It therefore remains around the plant root zone protecting it for a long time.

Rates and mode of application

Drench required amounts of RugbyÒ to moist soil of the affected area. Ensure there’s adequate moisture in the soil by continuing with irrigation or rainfall after application. When using drip irrigation, ensure the soil is wet before injecting RugbyÒ then apply RugbyÒ at 30 – 40ltrs/ha (depending on infestation). Repeat the application after 3 months.
RugbyÒ has high attachment affinity to soil organic matter and colloids, thus in the soil with high organic matter or high clay, slightly higher rate or repeat application as per the RugbyÒ label.

Timing of Application

Apply RugbyÒ 7-10days before transplanting (most vegetables) and ensure adequate water / irrigation. Once a crop has been transplanted allow 10 – 15 days before applying. RugbyÒ is known to be phototoxic to young roots of some crops

Contradictions

Ensure normal regimes of irrigation to crop for good RugbyÒ performance. Never apply RugbyÒ to stressed crop (Nutritional or water stress). RugbyÒ would accelerate the stress to the plant.

Precaution

RugbyÒ is harmful if inhaled, swallowed or absorbed through skin. Observe recommended safety precautions as per the RugbyÒ label.

Storage

Store RugbyÒ in a cool dry place, in its original containers away from children, livestock, foods and feedstuffs.
